Winter Returns

It has been snowing off and on, mostly on, for the last four days.  We've had a total of about five inches of new accumulation.  The nighttime temperatures are in the teens, but the afternoon temps still climb a degree or two above freezing.

    the pics make me miss the pine trees and deep woods in east Texas. loved just getting out and kinda 'lost' for a while as a kid although the temps were...a wee different.

    Being among conifers is nice. I spent the last sixteen years in deciduous oak country, where the winter skyline was filled with bare branches spotted with touches of green mistletoe. We should all try to hang onto that childlike sense of wonder we had back when everything was new.
